“It was fun”

Well, I will tell you that I have had some difficulties!  My first problem was choosing something to write about, there is litterally too much to choose from.  Secondly, I have gotten halfway through the assignment a handful of times without success. I always seem to run into a roadblock, in one way or another.  Lastly, I am finding it difficult to become clear, and to the point while trying to fill the requiements of the assignment.

As for the assignment I wrote about the bounty scandal in the NFL.  I know that it’s not really all that important in the grand scheme of things but I do enjoy it and I thought it would be a great thing to write about since it effects not only these players but college, high school and youth leagues.

Saying that, I will give it the “college try” and finish the assignment sometime tonight… Hopefully I write something that is worth the time of reading it!

“Apologies, short and sweet”

The press release that I have chosen is something from the not so distant past.  I am a huge NFL nut, and the team that I support is the Denver Bronco organization.  To get to the point, the organization suffered a loss in January of 2012 and released these statements.  Now the statements  aren’t very long but they do get a powerful message across to the audience that it is intended for.

STATEMENTS FROM THE BRONCOS ON THE DEATH OF EDGAR KAISER

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. The Denver Broncos released the following statements on the death of former owner Edgar Kaiser:
OWNER AND CEO PAT BOWLEN
“On behalf of the Denver Broncos, I extend our sincere condolences to the family of Edgar Kaiser. I have enormous appreciation for the opportunity Edgar gave me to become owner of this great franchise in 1984. Our deepest sympathies go out to Edgar’s family during this difficult time.”
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS JOHN ELWAY
“It is with great sadness that I learned of Mr. Kaiser’s untimely death. He was responsible for executing the trade that made me a Bronco, and I am forever grateful for everything he did for me. My thoughts are with the entire Kaiser family and his friends as they mourn their loss.”

“Internet Media”

Unfortunately I can’t give you a link or a real description of an artifact that I use in my life because it is from work, where emails have become increasingly secured.  Saying that, at my work I get daily emails about upcoming events, job postings, cooporate ongoings and finally new products.  I have found that the new product launches are very well written but they are a little self serving, as if they are promoting the product to us, although they are very informative about what the product is for, and gives every spec available.  I do get why they aren’t really well written, because in most cases the p.r. is written by an engineer or someone else that doesn’t really have the best writing aptitude.

As for forms of media I use in my daily life, I think I use everything I can.  I write on sporting blogs daily, I read sporting blogs daily, I also read the local and national newspapers daily.  To be honest with you I read more online than I ever read in a newspaper.  One other thing I do is shop online quite a bit, from school to baby stuff, most of my shopping is done on Amazon.

I could not go without the internet.  It has gotten so bad that when my phone goes out of commission for a day, I feel like a smoker without a smoke… It’s sad but I really do go through withdrawals.
